Elizabeth Young is a partner within a Top 10 Accountancy firm, specialising in internal audit.  She is the lead partner for Risk Assurance services for Scotland and the North of England.

Elizabeth is dual qualified as both a chartered accountant (ICAS) and chartered internal auditor (IIA) and leads the delivery of outsourced internal audit services to a range of public, private and third sector organisations.  Her expertise covers the key disciplines of governance, risk management and internal control and she supports her clients in ensuring robust and effective processes are in place in each of those areas and right across their operations.  She also engages regularly at board level, advising her clients across diverse topics but notably on strategic change, delivering risk workshops, supporting board training and development, and carrying out board effectiveness reviews.

Elizabeth is also a member of ICAS Audit and Assurance Panel and regularly volunteers her time towards initiatives that widen access to the accountancy profession, including acting as a mentor through the ICAS Foundation.  She also has a keen interest in ESG and, in addition to supporting clients with their ESG journeys, regularly speaks to external forums on this topic.
