Iain joined DSL Business Finance in February 2018 as a Loan Officer, later expanding his responsibilities in June 2022 to include Credit Underwriting. In March 2024, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer and went on to become DSL’s Chief Executive Officer in September 2025.

An accomplished banker and senior professional, Iain brings more than 40 years of experience in the Scottish SME marketplace. His career began at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), where he held a variety of roles across branch banking and senior management, making significant contributions to business and commercial banking.

Following his time at RBS, Iain broadened his experience as Chief Executive Officer of an Aviation Group on a consultancy basis. This venture deepened his understanding of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, complementing his extensive financial expertise.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) in Scotland and a graduate of Common Purpose, Iain is committed to professional excellence and lifelong learning.
