Murray Marshall joined DSL Business Finance in December 2016 as a Loan Officer, later taking on additional underwriting responsibilities before being promoted to Senior Loan Officer in May 2025. Based in the Highlands, Murray leads a team of Loan Officers and Underwriters, supporting businesses across Scotland to access the funding they need to start, sustain, and grow.

With a distinguished career in SME lending – including 32 years with the Royal Bank of Scotland in a variety of business and customer-facing roles – Murray offers a wealth of financial expertise and an in-depth understanding of the Scottish business landscape. His extensive experience, combined with his commitment to helping entrepreneurs overcome barriers to finance, has earned him a strong reputation as a trusted adviser to businesses at every stage of their development.

An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, Murray continues to apply his professional knowledge and practical insight to support the growth of Scotland’s small business community. Having lived and worked in the Highlands for many years, he remains deeply connected to the region and passionate about its continued economic development.

Outside of work, Murray is a keen music enthusiast. As a teenager, he aspired to become a professional singer – and even performed on stage with Lesley Garrett and Alfie Boe.
