Dramtubes, a whisky company based in Milngavie and co-owned by industry veteran Alan Irvine, embarked on a mission to broaden access to rare and high-priced whiskies by packaging them in convenient taster-sized glass tubes. To turn this vision into reality and extend their market reach, Alan sought support from DSL Business Finance through the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme for a loan of £20,000.
This financial backing enabled Dramtubes to develop its e-commerce platform, establish collaborations with upscale retailers and hotels, and inaugurate a new warehousing facility in Edinburgh to meet escalating demand. With the funds in place, the company also initiated the exploration of international distribution networks and contemplated diversifying into other premium spirits such as gin and rum.
Dramtubes’ dedication to broadening access to rare whiskies has borne fruit, and it continues to expand its market presence and product offerings, extending the delight of premium spirits to enthusiasts worldwide.
